Prairie State Orchid Society
Centered
around Springfield, Illinois, we are a group of orchid lovers who meet regularly
to discuss, enjoy, learn about and indulge our passion for orchids. Our members include some experts and knowledgeable growers to those who are beginners to orchid care and growing
What we all have in
common is a love for these beautiful plants and a desire to share our
enthusiasm.
We invite you to join us at our monthly meetings on the third Friday of the month (7 pm) . Our New Meeting location for 2020 is:
Springfield Ceramic and Craft Club
All the meetings will be held at the Springfield Ceramic and Craft Club, except for the April 2020 Meeting, in which the location will be announced at a later date. Our annual February show and sale is held at Washington Park Botanical Garden,1740 W. Fayette in Springfield.
All meetings of the Praire State Orchid Society will be cancelled through the Month of June. We will resume regular society activities once there is more direction from the CDC.

Thank you for all who attended the Annual Christmas Party. Everyone seemed to have a great time enjoying Food, Fun and Orchids. Special Thanks to George Kloppe for ordering the Christmas Plants from Windy Hill Gardens, Dave and Cathy Mikus for donating the Fried Chicken(It was all gone!!), Mitzi Vasconcelles for donating the M&M;'s for our Bingo Games, Dave Mikus for calling the Bingo Games, Kandy Grafton for the awesome Centerpieces on the tables and last but not least, all the members who donated a gift for the raffle table. Orchids in the Classroom
Earlier this year, one of our members, Doug Daugherty, introduced Orchids in his classroom at Jefferson Middle School. Another one of our members, Mitzi Vasconcelles was generous enough to donate some orchids to Mr. Daugherty's classroom. Click here to see one of the donated orchids in bloom.
